77. Rearranging my View of You

I placed your dishes

In my pantry;

Rearranged my minimalist view

To accommodate a larger

Appreciation of you—

And your treasure line of ancestry,

The details of your history.

Crystal, linen and lace;

These things are not my taste.

Silver, porcelain and brass;

Symbols of comportment and class.

Like my preference for black

And white,

We are as different as day and night.

Your silver and dishes in pink

These things are now our link.
