How I See You Now

You were only

When your decline began

I do the math

And realize this

―You were young

While I felt

So very old

At 41

Old and blind

To your true age

Focused on my own―

How life could feel

So trying and unfair.

But now at 48

I have it straight

Led to surrendering

Rendering me

Youthful again

Through the innocence

Of Love.
