This poem is not about sexual abuse, but about financial misconduct and dishonest contractors who knowingly take advantage of women and seniors because they can. Any abuse of power or violation of another person’s trust is wrong. During the last months of my father’s life we hired a contractor who hired a subcontractor to replace our roof. Corners were cut and within a year we had major water damage. The contractor declined to take responsibility and I was told this is commonplace; that my only recourse is to hire someone else to replace my brand new roof.
