You went to your studio
And painted
     Your grief
Incongruous
With your trademark whimsy
And bold colors
     Your wife’s red jacket
The one with the clothespin on the hood
―Your solution
For keeping it out of her eyes
     Travel
From the two of you holding hands
As you walk up the lane one final time
     To where the road divides
And with outstretched arms
You part.
